The Protocol
1. Stop shaving and get your armpits waxed or sugared instead. Shaving your armpits is a huge contributor to darkened skin- razors irritate skin and the inflammation process involves the recruitment of more melanocytes (cells that produce melanin) to the area. You don't want this!
2. Every day, exfoliate your underarms with the SRSLY Buffed Shower Gloves. In shower is best. Regularly exfoliating your armpits gets rid of dead skin cells that are holding onto extra melanin. Be gone, dead skin!
3. Apply the Turmeric & Papaya Brightening Deodorant daily (twice daily to speed up the process!). Turmeric, papaya enzymes and licorice root help to gently brighten skin and fade dark spots.
4. Be patient! This product is gentle so as not to irritate delicate armpit skin. Expect to begin to see results in 4-6 weeks.

Why do I have hyperpigmented armpit skin?
Firstly, it's totally normal to have armpit skin that's darker than the rest of your body and a very common concern. We can feel self conscious though because darkened armpits are visible when you wear sleeveless outfits. Many factors contribute to hyperpigmentation in the armpits, shaving being the biggest culprit. Other factors include scarring from ingrown hairs, hormones and skin trauma from services like aggressive chemical peels and laser treatments. The armpit is also a small, hot, dark and damp place and therefore difficult to treat. With the right regiment of exfoliation + brightening though you'll be well on your way to brighter skin.
How often should I apply this product?
We recommend using this product as you would with any deodorant. You can apply twice daily (morning + pm) to speed up the brightening effects. Our deodorant is designed to be used daily because we use plant-based brightening ingredients and not photosensitizing or skin-sensitizing AHAs, BHAs or retinols. The last thing you want is irritated armpit skin!

When will I see results?
Good question! Treating hyperpigmentation relies on two steps: exfoliation + brightening ingredients. We strongly recommend pairing the deodorant with the SRSLY Buffed In-Shower Exfoliating Gloves to exfoliate your underarm skin every day. This deodorant contains very gentle ingredients that work over time to even out your natural skin tone so be patient and consistent (4-6 weeks) and you will see results!
